In the background you see the pink of the Golden gate bridge. Now the fog hangs over SanFrancisco bay. In 1988 I read a book called "The Golden Gate" by Vikram Seth. I wanted to meet him, to visit San Francisco,to write and to paint.
I met Vikram Seth in 1988, visited San Francisco in 2005 and painted this painting in 2006.
